Building Consortia and Working in Partnership


Following on from the success of NCB's Successful Commissioning: an introduction to healthcare and commissioning training course and in response to the current political and funding environment, NCB has developed a new training course on building consortia and working in partnership.

Event Details:
The course is a one day introductory course targeted at organisations with little or no experience of working in partnership and building consortia. Delegates must have an understanding of commissioning, gained either through attending NCB's Successful Commissioning course, experience or alternative training.

Please arrive for registration at 9.00 am

The training will take place from 9.30am - 4.00pm and lunch will be provided from 12.45-1.30pm


  Course Aims

  • To provide and introduction to the national commissioning context which is driving partnerships and consortia building
  • To provide a grounding in consortia working benefits, strengths, weaknessess, governance and processes
  • To examine outcome based commissioning frameworks
  • To provide practical learning about different models of partnership and consortia building and delivery
  • To provide opportunites for networking and sharing of information and materials

Why attend?
The training has been designed to be participatory and enjoyable, including a range of exercises designed to enable delegates to share and draw on the group's collective experience. It also provides an opportunity for organisations within the same region who work with children and young people to network and build relationships.

Who should attend?
This course is aimed at children and young people's charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises who are looking to form consortia and partnership in order to be able to bid for public service contracts.

What does it cost?
This training course (worth £175) is subsidised by VSS with just a £50 administration fee (inclusive of VAT).


Each training day is open to 20 delegates, and places are booked on a first come, first served basis.


Cancellation policy
All cancellations must be received in writing. In the event of a cancellation, a full refund will be given for one month's notice, a 50% refund for 1 month to 14 days notice and no refund for less than 14 days notice. Substitutions may be made at any time.
